LIFT Award nomination – Positive Attitude

LIFT Award nomination – Positive Attitude

I am proud and humbled to be nominated for the LIFT Award in the Positive Attitude category.

Mary is the ultimate in positivity. Jobs which others have said can’t be done she gets done and ahead of time. She set up her own business a month before covid lockdown. This was her first step on her own after 25 years working in finance in many different organisations and industries. The lockdown did not stop her. She developed her business online. She helped many businesses in a real way with her plain talking and excellent experience. She also gave many training courses. Mary is a positive connector of people. She has for a long time actively sought out ways to develop and improve herself. She has actively contributed to these groups and made connections along the way with her positive attitude. She has recommended many people for jobs having previously connected with them and they have all worked out well. Prior to leaving her last job she had recommended her replacement who went on to get the job. The companies she has worked for in the last 2 1/2 years would all have great praise for her work and how unique she is. She simplifies the financial side of their business and implements practical improvements in business processes and systems. She would be a worthy winner of this award and has just published her first book to allow access to more people and business owners to her knowledge and experience.”

Super excited about the awards, keep an eye out for this in the coming weeks! 🙂

Kilkenny Business Awards 2021

Dear Finalists,

I would like to wish all of You the best of luck and appreciate all the hard work you put into this! Unfortunately, because of a personal circumstance (COVID-19), I was unable to present the award personally, on behalf of CK Skillnet on Saturday.

Mary Hayden

The Kilkenny Business Awards 2021 take place in the Lyrath Estate Hotel on Saturday 12th March.

The gala awards ceremony will celebrate the resilience and determination of the local economy with 18 awards. A new category for 2021 will honour the Best Business Pivot in the Pandemic. A special recognition for local businesses with an exceptional Covid-19 story to tell. Local businesses that, in the face of an unprecedented global pandemic, lockdown, restrictions, closures and much uncertainty, have not only survived but thrived, adapted and grown. The coveted Lifetime Achievement Award, President’s Award plus the overall business of the year will also be announced on March 12th.

After a challenging two years, the flagship event provides a long-awaited opportunity to meet and network, in person, with colleagues, clients and friends from Kilkenny’s business community.

Colin Ahern, President of Kilkenny Chamber said,

The date is set to celebrate the extraordinary achievements of local business. Kilkenny Chamber is thrilled to announce the return of its flagship gala event on 12th March. The event will be a special reunion and chance for people to meet face to face in a safe environment. I am looking forward to meeting friends and colleagues to celebrate everything that we have achieved across the county under unprecedented circumstances.”

The evening of celebration will start with a Champagne Reception from 6 pm in the Conference Centre at Lyrath Estate Hotel followed by a delicious four-course dinner. Host Helen Carrol will announce the winners throughout the evening. Music by the Party Girls will round off the evening.

Tickets are limited. Those interested in attending can contact admin@kilkennychamber.ie. The event will be held with all necessary safety precautions and in strict adherence to the Government guidelines.

Are you familiar with the Great Pink Run for Breast Cancer Awareness?

Are you familiar with the Great Pink Run for Breast Cancer Awareness Ireland?

Run Walk or Jog in your community and all in aid of a great cause, the Great Pink Run for Breast Cancer Awareness Ireland. We never know when this might hit our family, and it’s great to know that there are organisations out there to help if it ever did.

Personally, my own son had cancer when he was 6yrs old and the initial shock stays forever. One minute our family are all healthy & well and the next our world is falling apart. Thankfully he is now joining me in this run and it feels great to be out the other side and to help these organisations fundraise.

We appreciate all the sponsorship. Thank you.

Enhance your business and career development through networking

Have you heard of the Regional Leaders Programme? Giving yourself time out and mixing with like-minded people who can enhance your Business and Career Development.

In 2018, I worked full-time. The Waterford Regional Leaders Programme started. I signed up as a mentee. Meeting the mentors was of huge benefit to me. I also loved the networking that came with the group events. At the end of 2019, I made the huge jump into self-employment. I am now a mentor on this programme. It feels good to give back to the community. I look forward to meeting the 7 mentees assigned to me and seeing their business and career development over the year.

If you are interested in this programme and would like to sign up for next year, please see below for more details.
